After a week they love it, though they prefer the Vader 4's back-button layout and now leave the paddles off and use the new shoulder buttons instead. Likes the rubber grip, finds the software less buggy and the sticks snappier than the Vader 4.

“Had mine about a week now, love it, not a huge fan of the new back buttons though, I was one of the few who seemed to like the old setup”
positivegreat performancegood software

Coming from the Vader 4 Pro, finds the Vader 5 Pro good so far. The one downside is the bottom back buttons, which are uncomfortable for them so they removed them; the new shoulder buttons are a nice addition.

“I think the Vader 5 Pro is good so far but my only con i find personally is the back button placement. For me it was perfect on Vader 4 Pro.”

After two weeks finds it a clear upgrade over the Vader 4 Pro, which they did not expect. The only missing piece is finding aftermarket thumbstick covers that fit.

“Vader 5 Pro after 2 weeks of use is absolutely an upgrade on the 4 Pro which I didn't think would be possible. Just need to find thumbsticks that fit and it's perfect!”

Switched from PlayStation to Xbox layout just for this controller, coming from a DualSense Edge because they wanted the extra buttons and wireless, and does not regret it.

“I switched from Playstation to Xbox layout just because of the vader 5 pro and i don't regret it. Coming from a dualsense edge (i need those extra buttons and wireless connection)”

Loving it after a couple of days, but with large hands it feels small, like most controllers, and they wish there were a larger size.

“I got one a couple of days ago and I'm loving it so far. However, because I have large hands(19x10cm), it feels like a petite controller just like all the others.”
mixed

With smaller hands, finds it fits perfectly where the Vader 4 Pro felt big. Sees it as better in every way: easier Select button, turbo and macro buttons, two new buttons, more comfortable back buttons, easier D-pad and better sticks. Only wishes the D-pad were easy to swap.

“As someone with likely smaller hands than you, this controller feels amazing compared to Vader 4 Pro. It fits my hands perfectly whereas the V4P was a little too big for me.”
positivecomfortablegreat performance

Quickly became their favourite controller, but the right trigger turned mushy within 30 minutes. Even so, of the Vader 5 Pro, GameSir G7 Pro, Scuf Valor Pro and Xbox Elite Series 2 they own, it ticks the most boxes for competitive play.

“This quickly became the best controller I’ve ever used, until about 30 minutes in when I noticed the right trigger started feeling mushy.”

Could not get theirs to work: Windows saw it as a mouse rather than an Xbox controller, with no drivers available. Blames the firmware, warns against updating, and will return it unless a fix arrives soon.

“I cant get mine to work. Got it last night. Windows recognizes it as a mouse as well as hidusbf recognizing it as an hid compliant mouse.”
negativebad software

Loves how responsive it is and uses the extra buttons by the triggers constantly, but finds the build quality not good enough. Removed the paddles because of the known paddle issue, and after a couple of weeks the L2 mouse-click trigger started sticking.

“I've had this controller for a couple of weeks now and i absolutely love how responsive it is and i use the extra buttons next to the l2 and r2 all the time”

Developed stick drift after about a week, with too much wiggle at centre. They also cannot use all four back paddles with their middle fingers, which makes them unusable for them.

“mine developed some weird stick drift after around a week, it has too much wiggle in the center position so its like 5-6% stick drift just by touching it in center position.”
negativequality control issues

Bought it to replace a Vader 4 and loves the controller, but the new paddles are far too easy to press by accident and spoil it for them.

“I bought this to replace my Vader 4… I love the controller but the paddles ruin it. Wish they kept the same paddle style as the Vader 4”
mixed

Finds it very uncomfortable: the grips put all the weight on two fingers, and with the controller's heft it hurts to hold after five minutes. Would not recommend it.

“I just got one after watching several reviews, including this, and it's SUPER UNCOMFORTABLE to hold. The grips are very poorly designed and it hurts my fingers to hold it after 5 mins”

After years on a Vader 2 Pro, finds the Vader 5 Pro's battery seems to last about half as long, though they are still testing it.

“i am using vader 2 for long time, the battery life is reasonably enough, until i used vader 5 pro, it feels like the battery life is like half of vader 2 pro”
negativeshort battery life

Returned the Vader 5 Pro because its d-pad was too loud to play at night, though they miss the controller.

mixed

Finds the Vader 5 Pro a bad controller, with constant glitches, macros that can't be unbound without a factory reset, and keyboard binds failing on console.

negativebad software

The current Space Station version won't let them open customization on their Vader 5 Pro.

negativebad software

After four months of racing games, the Vader 5 Pro is the best controller they have owned, especially for its adjustable stick tension.

positivegreat performance

Owns a G7 Pro but mains the Vader 5 Pro for its stick tension, RGB, steadier D-pad and larger size.

“I have the G7 Pro but the Vader 5 Pro is my main due to the adjustable stick tension, RGB, and the more stable mechanical d pad, larger size.”
positive

Their Vader 5 Pro stopped working with their computer because of Space Station software problems.

“My Vader 5 Pro is now not working with my computer because of some stupid Space Station shit.”
negativebad software

The Vader 5 Pro was always the best-feeling controller in their hands, and the new Apex 6 Pro feels almost identical.

“Very similar, almost identical feeling tbf, which is great as the Vader 5 was always the best feeling controller in hands for me!”
positivecomfortable

Of the various controllers they own, the Vader 5 Pro is their favourite.

“Vader 5 Pro is my favorite controller of the various controllers I own, and I believe it was on sale on Amazon yesterday.”
positive

An FPS player whose modded DualSense was replaced as their main by the Vader 5 Pro, for its four paddles, stick tension, extra top buttons and premium build.

“My main used to be a DualSense with TMR sticks and 4 back buttons, but ever since I got the Vader 5 Pro, it's been my go-to controller.”
positivesolid build

Uses the Vader 5 Pro on Xbox and prefers two back buttons plus the top buttons to using all four paddles in shooters.

“I use Vader 5 Pro on Xbox and I can't imagine using the top buttons AND 4 back buttons, at least for FPS.”
positive

Loves the Vader 5 Pro's mouse-microswitch face buttons.

“I have Flydigi Vader 5 Pro, and I love it's face buttons (it has mouse microswitches on A, B, X and Y buttons)”
positive

Their Vader 5 Pro's left stick squeaked when pushed forward, and Flydigi support called it normal. Got a refund through the marketplace warranty and says they will not buy Flydigi again.

“i had vader 5 pro the L analog was squaked when you push forward, contacted them and said its normal and user seldom use that button anyway”
negativequality control issues

Has hundreds of hours on both the Vader 5 Pro and the G7 Pro 8K and gives the edge to the GameSir. The Vader's paddles snap and its polling rate tops out at 600 Hz, so it is weaker for FPS, though still a good controller.

“it’s definitely not as good on fps games i have 100s of hrs played on both controllers apart from its flaws it is a good controller”
mixeddurability issues

Prefers the Vader 5 Pro to the G7 Pro 8K: the extra buttons and D-pad are excellent, and in Tekken they wavedash faster and more consistently than on a DualSense. The Hall-effect sticks centre well enough for a 1% deadzone; only the G7's wider sticks are better.

“Sticks are hall effect but still feel very good, great centering as I run 1% deadzone on everything now, had to run 5% with the G7 Pro 8k.”
positivegreat performance

Upgraded from the Vader 4 Pro to the Vader 5 Pro this week. After adding the recommended rubber bumpers to the paddles it works perfectly, and the new Space Station software feels like a different UI rather than an upgrade but does what they need.

“I did the recommended “add 8x2mm rubber bumpers to the end of your paddle” modification and it works perfectly with no risk of breaking now.”
positive

Their new Vader 5 Pro's left stick doesn't seem to reach full range: auto-sprint in Call of Duty fails about half the time, even with lower deadzones, unless they reduce the in-game maximum deadzone.

“I just got my Vader 5 Pro and am having an issue with the left analog stick. My auto sprint doesn't work in call of duty like half the time”
negativequality control issues

Bought a first-batch Vader 5 Pro at launch, and it still holds up very well despite heavy use. Sees QC as down to luck.

“I ordered my Vader 5 pro the moment it dropped (so V1/first batch) and it still holds up very well, even with how hard I use and abuse it.”
positivesolid build

On PC through the 2.4 GHz dongle, Steam detects their Vader 5 Pro as two controllers every time, so inputs sometimes don't reach the game or the controller stops working. They spend more time troubleshooting than playing.

“I am using a FlyDigi Vader 5 Pro over the 2.4GHz dongle on PC, mainly through Steam. The issue is that every time I turn it on, Steam detects it as two controllers.”
negativebad softwareconnection issues

After three months with the Vader 5 Pro and a G7 Pro, prefers the G7 for their small hands and more refined sticks. The Vader's left tension ring creeps a few notches over long sessions, but its D-pad is much better and its extra weight makes it feel sturdier.

“Tension rings on the left hand side of my Vader 5 Pro tend to move ever slightly. I tested this and yes, it does move just on the left hand.”
mixedsolid buildquality control issues

Finds the Vader 5 Pro lighter than the G7 but solid, with no flex or creaking. Calls it one of the most comfortable controllers they have used, and their hands don't tire.

“The Vader 5 is lighter but still vey solid with no flex or creaking. If you like the Xbox controller shape the Vader 5 pro is the one to get.”
positivecomfortablesolid build

Plays only Rocket League on PC and cares mostly about vibration. The Vader 5 Pro's haptics are disappointing, and the Cyclone 2 has been the best they have tried.

“My last purchase was the Vader 5 Pro and I’m anything but satisfied when it comes to haptic feedback. So far I like the Cyclone 2 from Gamesir the best.”
negative

On SteamOS, their Vader 5 Pro's paddles and extra buttons are unusable because it has no D-Input mode, whereas the same buttons work on their Vader 4.

“Reporting in, as a SteamOS user, I care, because without it, I cannot use the paddles or extra buttons at all. They work fine on my Vader 4 in dinput mode”
negativebad software

Acknowledges the Vader 5 Pro's back-paddle QC problems, but notes that even without them it matches rivals' extra-button count. Rates its D-pad and sticks highly, though it feels smaller than its Xbox shape suggests.

“Vader 5 pro has the back paddle qc issues true...but even if those were to fail, it still has the same number of back/shoulder buttons to the other controllers in this price range.”
positivedurability issues

Owns the Vader 5 Pro and a G7 and uses the Vader for shooters, for its four back buttons, stick tension adjustment and better D-pad. Keeps the G7 for single-player games because it feels nice in the hand.

“for me I use the Vader as my primary controller for when playing shooters as I use all four back buttons & I like the stick tension adjustment. The Dpad is also better.”
positivegreat performance

Their Vader 5 Pro's rumble sometimes gets stuck until Steam is used to reset it, and Steam recognises it with its extra buttons only about half the time. Their Vader 4 Pro had neither problem, and they regret buying it.

“Then there’s Russian roulette with the connection to Steam: there’s a 50/50 chance that Steam will recognize it as a normal V5P with all the additional buttons, or just as a regular Xbox 360 controller”
negativebad softwareconnection issues

Bought the Vader 5 Pro for Crimson Desert and finds macro mapping decent, the stick tension subtle but nice, and the clicky buttons and switchable triggers good. Its weight and textures feel premium, and the paddles haven't broken for them so far.

“The adjustable tension for the joysticks is subtle but nice. The clicky feedback on the buttons, and the option to have a click pull or throttle pull on the main L R triggers are nice.”
positivesolid build

Dislikes where the Vader 5 Pro's detachable back paddles sit and doesn't use them, so the paddle defects haven't affected them. The two built-in back buttons, extra shoulder buttons and C/Z buttons are enough for them.

“With the Vader 5 Pro, I personally didn't like the placement of the back paddles (the detachable ones) but I like the 2 built in buttons”
mixed

Happy with the Vader 5 Pro, citing its mouse-click shoulder buttons, easily programmed back paddles and Hall-effect sticks with adjustable tension.

“Ive been happy with my flydigi vader 5 pro. Mouse click style shoulder buttons, and you get back paddles that are easily programmable. Hall effect sticks with adjustable tension.”
positive

Rates the Vader 5 Pro a tier above their 8BitDo and has no real complaints about their unit.

“I can vouch for the 8BitDo, but the Vader 5 Pro is definitely a tier up in controller. I don't have any real complaints about mine though, for what it's worth.”
positive

After 8–10 hours with a V2 Vader 5 Pro bought on Amazon, mostly in Battlefield 6, says their aim feels great, smooth and sticky. Four onboard profiles are plenty for them, and they especially recommend it for FPS and battle royale games.

“So far I’ve played about 8-10 hours with it. I remapped some buttons as I mainly play Battlefield 6. I also found a good settings video from a French YTer that plays CoD and BF6.”
positivegreat performance

Has 500+ hours on a launch Vader 5 Pro with zero issues, and it is their favourite controller, ahead of the G7 Pro 8K. They use seven of the eight extra buttons, mapping the C/Z buttons to gadgets in Battlefield 6.

“I have the v1 from the initial launch and I’ve had zero issues. I’ve probably got 500+ hours on it. I love it and it’s my favorite controller right now. Even more than the g7 pro 8k.”
positivegreat performance

A Flydigi fan since the Vader 3 Pro who owns two Vader 5 Pros. Thinks it has the worst software of the line, with no D-Input; both units sometimes take 30+ seconds to pair and can get stuck rumbling, unlike their instant-connecting Vader 4 Pro.

“And I really want to like this one (V5P) but I think it's the worst in terms of software, their decision to remove d-input and some firmware bugs are annoying.”
negativebad softwareconnection issues

Their V2 Vader 5 Pro has been almost flawless, fits their small hands and has great extra buttons, and the software is janky but flexible. Their one major complaint is a floaty D-pad that is terrible for RPGs, retro games and menus.

“no experience with the v1 but the v2 has been pretty much flawless. One major complaint though and that is the d pad is awful. I hate floaty dpads and this is like guiding a freaking disk”
mixedcomfortable

Owns both and wanted to prefer the G7, but the Vader 5 Pro's four back buttons and stick tension adjustment give it the edge. Still loves the G7's accurate sticks.

“I have both and wanted to like the G7 more but lack of 4 back buttons and stick tension adjustment gives the Vader 5 the edge. The extra top button on the G7 also just feel sloppy.”
positive

Liked the Vader 5 Pro's layout and feel, but it died completely the day after one night of use, leaving them worried about Flydigi's quality control.

“I recently tried the Vader 5 Pro and really liked the layout and feel, but it completely died the next day after just one night of use.”
negativequality control issues

Moving from a Vader 4 Pro, their Vader 5 Pro worked straight away on Xbox through a Mayflash adapter after a day of setup trouble. It feels more premium and great overall, but they dislike the placement of the two removable lower paddles.

“Vader 5 feels more premium but not a fan of the padel placement of the removable bottom 2. Will take them of and use the extra shoulder buttons instead I think.”
positivesolid build

Their new Vader 5 Pro has the revised ratcheting tension rings, but the left one is looser with a weaker click and the right also feels semi-loose. The right back paddle also sounds louder than the left.

“It arrived today and it does have the ratcheting tension rings, but the left one feels somewhat looser and the click is less noticeable. The right one sounds normal but also feels semi-loose.”
negativequality control issues

Plays only racing games and prefers the Vader 5 Pro to the Apex 5, whose busy adaptive triggers hurt their lap times. The external tension rings, C/Z buttons and half the price made the Vader a no-brainer.

“Add in the external adjustment rings, additional C + Z buttons on the front, and half the price for the Vader 5 and it was a no-brainer for me.”
positivegreat value

With Steam Input in control, their V2 Vader 5 Pro connects unpredictably, sometimes as a plain Xbox pad, sometimes with no vibration, sometimes frozen. They power-cycle it repeatedly; once it fully works it is the best controller they have used.

“I basically keep repeating TURN OFF, TURN ON, TURN OFF, AND TURN ON. ... Multiple times, until it fully works... And when it fully works.. it's amazing, the best controller possible, but with a lot of work and hassle!”
mixedconnection issuesbad software

Upgraded from a Vader 4 Pro and loved the Vader 5 Pro, apart from a left tension ring that sometimes moves. Has since switched to a Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC for Warzone but still finds the Vader excellent for story games.

“I have actually moved on from the Vader 5 pro for playing Warzone now, went with the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro 8k pc but the vader 5 pro is still excellent for other games like story mode games”
mixed

Bought the Vader 5 Pro for Call of Duty and it feels great, but the right stick drifts to the right unless the in-game deadzone is set to about 5.

“Overall the controller feels great, but I’ve noticed something odd: I need to set a deadzone of **5** in‑game, otherwise my right stick slowly moves to the right on its own.”
mixedquality control issues

The Vader 5 Pro is probably their favourite controller and otherwise perfect for them; their only complaint is weak gyro support because it lacks D-Input.

“I love the Vader 5 pro. Probably my favorite controller. What I don't like is the lack of Gyro support on it because it doesn't have D input. Otherwise, it's literally a perfect controller for me.”
positive

Imported a pre-ordered Vader 5 Pro from China; after a week the battery ran out, and since then it won't charge or light up, though Windows still sees it and Space Station does not.

“Received the controller plugged it in and used it for a week then it ran out of charge, plugged it in but the light bar won't turn on but the PC recognize it”
negativequality control issues

Playing on PS5 through a Brook Wingman adapter, their Vader 5 Pro keeps disconnecting mid-game despite updated firmware on both, possibly linked to haptics being on.

“My Vader 5 pro seems to be completely disconnecting in the middle of games for some odd reason. I fully updated the firmware on the Vader 5 Pro, and the Wingman adapter as well.”
negativeconnection issues

Calls it maybe the best PC controller they have used and loves it for nearly every stick game. Appreciates the two extra shoulder buttons and finds the software much improved over the one they used with the Vader 3 Pro.

“To me, this is maybe the best PC controller I have ever used. I am totally in love with it for nearly any game I play on the sticks. Adding the 2 shoulder buttons is so appreciated.”
positivegreat performancegood software

Has owned two Vader 5 Pros since launch without a single problem, like their other Flydigi controllers, and thinks the Vader 5 Pro is well worth the money.

“I’ve 2 of them since launch and I’ve never had a problem with any Flydigi controllers I own ,Vader 4/5!and Apex 4&5 and I think the Vader 5 is well worth the money”
positivegreat value

Their Vader 5 Pro connects to Steam with its extra buttons only about half the time, otherwise as a generic XInput pad until power-cycled. Vibration also sometimes gets stuck until another rumble event fires.

“there's a 50/50 chance of the Vader 5 Pro fully connecting and working properly with Steam with all the extra buttons being recognised, or connecting as a generic Xinput controller where none of them are.”
negativebad softwareconnection issues

Owns a G7 Pro ZZZ and a Vader 5 Pro. The G7's sticks are slightly better for aiming, but everything else is better on the Vader, which is their main controller out of nine, though they had to exchange it twice for QC issues.

“Everything else the v5pro is better as long as you dont run into qc issues (i had to exchange twice)”
mixedquality control issues

Their late-batch V1 Vader 5 Pro is excellent overall, but the right trigger squeaks as if it was never lubricated. Still likes it enough to consider a second unit, finding it so solid that their Steam Controller feels cheap; the tension rings have never moved.

“In my case I got one of the last batches of the v1 in march. It is FLAWLESS (and the difference from tmrs is inconceivable imo) BUT my RT seems to have not been properly lubed”
mixedsolid buildquality control issues

Owns the Vader 5 Pro and an 8BitDo and likes both, but on PC sees the Vader 5 Pro as the best, because adjustable stick tension is a must for them in racing games and shooters.

“If you're pc only then I think Vader 5 pro is king. Adjsutbale stick tension for me is a must for racers and shooters.”
positive

Can't get their new Vader 5 Pro to work through its dongle on a Steam Deck dock, despite firmware updates and power cycling. Bluetooth to the Deck and the dongle on Windows both work.

negativeconnection issues

Saw significant stick drift on both a Vader 5S and a Vader 5 Pro, about 5–7% at zero deadzone, against about 1% on their flawless Vader 4 Pro. Returned the 5S and hopes for a firmware fix.

“I had the exact same issue on the Vader 5S and Vader 5 Pro, significant stick drift. I think this is a major screw up by Flydigi, as I have the Vader 4 Pro”
negativequality control issues

After a G7 Pro that was too small for long sessions and a GuliKit TT Max whose back paddles they couldn't reach, the Vader 5 Pro was the perfect size for their hands: comfortable even with its rubber grips, and not too heavy.

“when i first got it i can tell alr that it is the PERFECT size for my hands! grip comfortably even with rubber grip and not too heavy.”

Updating their Vader 5 Pro to the latest firmware broke the gyro, and they advise new owners not to update.

Their Vader 5 Pro worked for a day, then refused to turn on after its first full charge on the dock.

“I bought Vader 5 pro yesterday, now its dead... i dunno why. At first it works normally but after I charge it full on Charging Dock, it refuses to turn on.”

Bought the Vader 5 Pro alongside a ZD Ultimate Legend; the Vader felt amazing from the start and they fell in love with it while the ZD waited for replacement stick modules.

“I purchased a Vader 5 pro and a zd ultimate legend at the same time a few months ago. The Vader 5 pro felt amazing and the zd ultimate legend had terrible stick drift out of the box.”

Installing Flydigi Space Station for their Vader 5 Pro also added a virtual keyboard and controller that caused problems in EA FC 26. Later sold the controller, finding it too big for long sessions.

“Vader 5 - when I installed the software app (flydigi space station) for some reason it also installed a virtual keyboard and a virtual controller which caused me all kinds of issues when I play EA FC 26”
negativebad software

After a firmware update, their Vader 5 Pro keeps opening the Xbox Game Bar and Steam overlay by itself and registers random X and A presses, though it looks fine in a gamepad tester. Their G7 Pro has no such problem.

“My flydigi vader 5 pro keeps opening xbox game bar and steam overlay on its own. Sometimes the x and a buttons are also registered randomly.”
negativebad software

Uses the Vader 5 Pro for single-player RPGs and returned a G7 Pro 8K because the Vader's versatility and better D-pad mattered more than its supposedly weaker sticks.

“I do use it for my singleplayer rpg games tho lol. I returned my g7 pro 8k cause the versatility and better dpad was just more worthwhile even if it has "worse" sticks.”
positive

Their new Vader 5 Pro has several defects: the right lower paddle only activates at the very end of its travel, the right stick clicks and resists past half tension, and the rear Fn button doesn't seem to work.

“Right bottom paddle does not activate always (This isn't related to the prob/solution going around to minimize the travel of the paddle). The paddle takes almost the entire distance to activate... Something isn't right.”
negativequality control issues

Their new Vader 5 Pro has the same right-stick tension-ring clicking and a less clicky right paddle. No drift, but both sticks show 12% circularity error that calibration and factory reset don't fix.

“I have the same issue with right stick/tension ring. I don’t feel stick drift, but the circularity on both my sticks is 12% calibration and factory reset doesn’t change it at all”
negativequality control issues

Upgraded from a Vader 3 Pro, and the Vader 5 Pro feels the closest to their old Xbox Elite Series 2. The G7 Pro felt off in their bigger hands.

“controller feel wise the Vader 5 pro(upgraded from Vader 3 pro) felt most similar to my old elite series 2 controller. Not sure why but the gamesir g7 pro felt off for some reason”
positivecomfortable

Owned six or more Elite Series 2 controllers and wanted four paddles, stick tension, profiles and Hall-effect or TMR sticks. After a week with a Vader 5 Pro V2 they sold their Elite, saying it beats it outright; the G7 Pro was too small with too few paddles.

positivegreat performance

Coming from a standard Xbox controller, the Vader 5 Pro felt like night and day across skating, driving and shooter games. They expected the tension rings to be a gimmick but adjust them constantly for precise cornering and sniping.

“I thought the tension rings would be gimmicky but I honestly find my self adjusting them all the time to the car or game I'm playing with. They really help with precise movements.”
positivegreat performance

After months of stick problems and a slow refund on a ZD Ultimate Legend, their new Vader 5 Pro is night and day: better build quality, useful stick tension rings and better software.

“I just bought a vader 5 pro and it is day and night, the vader 5 quality seems better, tension rings on the joysticks is a really cool feature, software is better”
positivesolid build

Owns the Vader 5 Pro, ZD Ultimate Legend and G7 Pro. The Vader is small with soft rubber grips and a matte finish, but fits well and its ergonomics are perfect for shooters.

“vader 5 has more soft rubber grip, is a small controller but fits well in hands, and feeling is some type of matte plastic, the ergonomics is perfect for fps.”
positivecomfortable

Their Vader 5 Pro suddenly died: Windows still detects it, as a mouse, but Space Station sees nothing and resets and reinstalls didn't help.

“Windows detects it (connect sound + device manager), but the Space Station app sees nothing and the controller is totally unresponsive.”
negativequality control issues

Bought the Vader 5 Pro to replace a worn Vader 3 Pro, but its new membrane D-pad, more durable than silicone nubs, needs more force, so harder fighting-game combos get missed. Bought a used Vader 4 Pro for fighting games instead.

“Problem is, it causes the dpad to be not as sensitive. You need a bigger force or you might miss the harder combos in a fighting game.”
mixed

Likes the Vader 5 Pro's Xbox-like shape and low start/select buttons, but even the exchanged unit's left stick drags in certain spots, so they are looking for alternatives.

“I like Vader 5 Pro but the QC issues are bothering me. I exchanged mine for a new one already and the left stick is still dragging on certain spots”
mixedquality control issues

Their Vader 5 Pro's stick tension holds, unlike their Vader 4's, but as a heavy paddle user in Halo and CoD they find the paddles have started to wiggle slightly.

“But yhea they started to wiggle a bit. They stay in place, but if you intentionally move them around it wiggles. Messes with my ocd.”
mixeddurability issues

After a month with the Vader 5 Pro and large hands, finds the layout perfect; the only issue is that the stick tops are too narrow.

“I have large hands and have been using the vader 5 pro for about a month. Only issue I have run into is the diameter of the top of the sticks is too narrow.”
positive

With very large hands, returned a Cyclone 2 (no Steam Input or gyro) and an 8BitDo before settling on the Vader 5 Pro. It cost twice as much in Canada but feels great and offers far more than a DualSense Edge.

“The vader 5 pro was like twice the cost for me to order in Canada (180$ for the ultimate bundle with dock, bag and everything) but maan does it feel good to use.”
positivecomfortable

Their Vader 5 Pro's left stick misses inputs when moving from left to up, and they gave up on the warranty process.

Went straight from a DualShock 2 to the Vader 5 Pro and enjoys its many customisable buttons; swapped to the convex sticks. Buttons can only be customised in the PC software.

“Funny enough my last stick is also the dual shock 2, I went with the Vader 5 pro, it has so many customizable buttons to play around with”

Their new Vader 5 Pro works great on PC through the dongle, but they couldn't connect it to an Android tablet at all; it shows up as a mouse over Bluetooth.

“It's great using it on my PC connected via dongle. But when trying to connect to my s9 ultra, it's just been a total failure.”

A failed firmware update through Space Station left their Vader 5 Pro completely unresponsive, showing version 0.0.0.1, with no rollback available.

Owns the Vader 5 Pro and a Blitz 2 and never touches the Blitz; loves the Vader 5 Pro, which feels even better in hand than the Vader 4 Pro they also loved. Later found it works flawlessly on PS5 through a Brook adapter.

“I have both and honestly, I don't touch my Blitz 2. I love the Vader 5 Pro.”
positivecomfortable

A few days into their Vader 5 Pro, bought for €51 after a year on a Vader 4: they like the new grip, the Xbox-style home button and the well-placed extra bumpers, and it feels more responsive.

“I really like the new grip and the fact it now has a Flyidigi button serving as an Xbox button. The additional bumpers are also in a great spot so you can't accidentally press them.”

The Vader 5 Pro's rumble is very strong out of the box: short pulses can shift it on a table, and full vibration leaves their hands tingling.
