Recommends their Keychron Q1 HE over a Wooting 80HE for mixed use: amazing build, software about as good, QMK/VIA, and it feels like typing on a cloud for coding.

“The Keychron has amazing build quality and software is about as good as Wooting.”

Comparing it with their Wooting 60HE, the Q1 HE is far ahead in feel and build quality with the smoothest switches they've tried, though the stock stabilizers needed lube and they prefer 60% for gaming.

“the Q1 is way ahead in terms of feel and build quality. The 60 HE almost feels like my old Ducky One3 mini in terms of the plasticky feel.”

Loving the new Q1 HE: stock it sounds even better than their modded Q1 Pro, with a deep, thocky sound.

“this Q1 HE sounds even better. It has a much deeper sound profile stock with a thocky or maybe more marble like sound to it.”

A couch gamer found the Q1 HE premium with angelic keystrokes, but its weight, hair-trigger sensitivity straining their wrist and hard-to-learn software made it wrong for lap use.

“the q1 he is an absolute BEAST of a keyboard, the feel is utterly premium, the rgb looks amazing”

Their Q1 HE has fantastic switches but rough, very rattly stabilizers.

“Agreed on both fronts, the switches are fantastic but the stabilizers are rough. Super rattly on my board”

Finds their (modded) Q1 HE very responsive even on 2.4 GHz with great typing feel, though the stock stabilizers needed replacing.

“But I do find this keyboard very responsive, even in the 2.4 ghz mode. In term of typing feel its great. Though I did a fair bit of modding.”
positivegreat performance

Having tried both, they can't tell the Q1 HE from a Wooting or Boog75 in play with rapid trigger at 0.5 mm, even on 2.4 GHz.

“I use rapid trigger set to 0.5mm (0.1-0.4 was way too sensitive) and I couldn't tell the difference between the Wooting, Boog75 or the Q1 HE.”

After a couple of years on a 60%, a coder and shooter player switched to the Keychron Q1 HE and finds its form factor better for nearly everything while still nearly as compact.

“I switched to the Keychron Q1 HE. The form factor was better for nearly everything.”

Testing a Keychron Q1 HE with an ISO-PT layout sold a user on the model, though they find it expensive and hard to get.

“I recently had the opportunity to test a **Keychron Q1 HE** equipped with a Portuguese layout (ISO-PT), and the experience sold me on the model.”
