Loved the EC1-DW as their all-time favourite ergo mouse, disliking only its battery life.

With 21x9.5cm hands and a relaxed claw, they like the EC1-DW's shape a lot and it sometimes gives unmatched aim stability, but next to their DeathAdder V4 it can feel too bulky for FPS. They're torn on returning it.

“I got it and I like the shape a lot”

With large hands, they tried the EC1-DW against the Pulsar Xlite V4: they liked the Zowie's charging dock and more tactile scroll wheel, but the coating was a bit sweatier and the Pulsar's bigger hump fit better, so they kept the Pulsar.

“Tried the EC1-DW and Pulsar Xlite v4 recently to replace my Basilisk v3 Pro.”

With 19.5x10.5cm hands, the EC1-DW is a tiny bit big for claw grip but far better in palm grip than the EC2-DW, and in BF6 their aim was steadier with less jitter.

“Ordered a EC1-DW as well then and while it does feel a tiny bit too big”

They love the EC1-DW's big, solid, light build and shape, but a charge lasts about two weeks whatever the polling rate (125–500Hz), less than they expected; they accepted that's normal for gaming mice.

“So I bought a Zowie EC1-DW, new from official reseller. Very nice mouse, big, feels like a tank but light as a bicycle, great shape, I love it.”

Their new EC1-DW's battery dies 3–5 times faster than their three-year-old G Pro Wireless on the same settings, even switched off overnight. They bought it only for the shape.

“logi lasts 3-5 times more with the same settings so yes, zowie has waaaay much shorter battery life.”
negativeshort battery life

With 22cm hands and a habit of pressing the mouse into the pad, the EC1-DW felt like velcro on every pad they own, the on/off switch dragging; a Glossy replacement was worse, with the soft base sinking until it dragged at the sensor. They returned both, though they praise the creak-free build.

“I bought an EC1-DW and my experience was terrible.”

Just received the EC1-DW: they don't like the clicks, but the stiffer, quieter scroll wheel is welcome, it feels amazing at 65g, and the charging dock is the best thing ever.

“I just received my EC1-DW copy but its been more than 10 years”

Having used the EC1-A, EC1-B and now the EC1-DW, they see no reason not to upgrade: the DW scroll wheel has much better tactile, notched feedback.

“The scroll wheel on the DW is much better.”

A long-time Zowie fan finally replaced their EC1-A with the EC1-DW and finds it exactly what they imagined for big hands, extremely responsive and lighter-feeling without the cable. They mostly play League and casual games.

“But as for the DW itself? Wow. It is exactly what I imagined.”

Coming from a small OP1 8K, the EC1-DW fits their big hand better, giving more control and contact as they palm; their grip has shifted, but they're really enjoying it and recommend it for big-handed palm grippers.

“overall if you have a big hand and you palm grip id 100% recommend you try it.”
positivecomfortable

The left button on their EC1-DW Glossy physically snaps at a pressure point when pressed firmly, noticeable in CS2 spray control; their matte EC1-DW doesn't do this.

“I recently bought a Zowie EC1-DW glossy and noticed an issue with the left mouse button.”
mixedquality control issues

For big hands it's the best they've found; years of EC1 models all still work and they now use the EC1-DW.

“The zowie ec1 is the best I could find. I've been using it for years. Currently using the ec1-dw.”
